Fund Momentum Publishes FM15: First Venture Capital Ranking Scored by Founder Alignment
VIENNA, Austria — Fund Momentum, the Vienna-based VC intelligence platform tracking over 970 active venture capital funds, has published the FM15, a semi-annual ranking of the top 15 emerging VC managers evaluated on four founder-relevant dimensions rather than assets under management.
The FM15 H1 2026 edition ranks emerging fund managers on LP Trust Signal, Early Track Record, Thesis Sharpness, and Founder Alignment — a scoring framework designed to help startup founders identify investors whose structural incentives and backgrounds are most closely aligned with founder success. The top-ranked fund in the H1 2026 edition achieved a score of 24 out of 27 points.
The ranking departs from conventional VC lists that sort managers by fund size or total capital deployed. Fund Momentum’s methodology assigns up to 27 points across its four dimensions, with Founder Alignment assessed on GP background, fund size relative to check size, and LP network quality for post-investment founder support. No payment is accepted for inclusion. Scores are supported exclusively by publicly available and documented evidence.
The H1 2026 edition covers 15 emerging fund managers across the United States and Europe, all of whom raised or closed capital between January and June 2026. To qualify, a fund must have raised or closed capital since September 2024. The full ranking covers managers active across pre-seed, seed, and early-stage venture investing in sectors including B2B software, deep tech, climate, and consumer.
“Most VC rankings tell founders who raised the most money. The FM15 tells founders who is most likely to back them and help them succeed,” said Michael Schneider, Founder of Fund Momentum. “Emerging managers are often overlooked precisely because they are new — but their track records, LP confidence signals, and thesis focus can be stronger indicators of founder value than fund size alone.”
Fund Momentum tracks over 970 active venture capital funds with weekly-updated investor signals including thesis tags, deployment status, and GP profiles. The platform launched an MCP server in July 2026, enabling AI assistants to query the fund database directly using plain language. The FM15 publishes every six months, with the H2 2026 edition scheduled for January 2027.
