2026 midterm elections calendar

The 2026 midterm elections will shape the final two years of President Donald Trump’s second term. Voters will decide control of Congress, with around one-third of the U.S. Senate and all of the U.S. House up for election. They’ll also elect dozens of governors, legislators and mayors further down the ballot. Primary contests begin in early March and continue through the summer, setting the stage for November’s general election.

Keep track of key dates throughout the year and follow The Associated Press’ race calls and coverage below. Runoffs and special elections will be added as they are scheduled.
