Sandusky’s son arrested on child sex charges
One of Jerry Sandusky’s sons was charged Monday with sex crimes involving two girls, more than five years after the former Penn State assistant coach was himself first arrested on child molestation charges.
Jeffrey S. Sandusky, 41, was charged by state police and arraigned by a district judge in Bellefonte on 14 counts. He was jailed on $200,000 bail.
Sandusky was a stalwart supporter of his father and accompanied his mother, Dottie, to many of his court proceedings. On Monday, Dottie accompanied Jeffrey Sandusky to his.
Police accused him of soliciting naked photos from a then-16-year-old girl last year and seeking oral sex in 2013 from her then-15-year-old sister.
Sunoco gets permits to build 306-mile pipeline in Pa.
HARRISBURG — Sunoco Logistics received permit approvals for the Mariner East 2 pipeline — a 306-mile project to move propane and other natural gas liquids across southern Pennsylvania — from the Department of Environmental Protection on Monday.
The company plans to start construct on the project that is expected to carry 275,000 barrels a day from southwestern Pennsylvania’s Marcellus Shale natural gas fields to its Marcus Hook processing and distribution facility near Philadelphia.
The company says the pipeline will provide four times the capacity of its existing Mariner East 1 pipeline. Mariner East 2 will largely follow the same path.
Bankrupt health group seeks to sell St. Joseph Hospital
A court motion indicates that a bankrupt North Philadelphia health organization has reached a deal to sell a shuttered hospital.
North Philadelphia Health System has filed a bankruptcy motion regarding its planned sale of St. Joseph’s Hospital for $8.1 million to MMP Hospital Partners LLC. The facility at 1600 W. Girard Ave. closed early last year.
A March 22 hearing on the sale has been requested by the health system, which still owes about $8 million on a Federal Housing Administration mortgage.
Police looking into KKK fliers distributed in N.J.
CINNAMINSON, N.J. — Police are investigating the appearance of fliers promoting the Ku Klux Klan in Burlington County.
Police say Cinnaminson and Maple Shade residents found the fliers near their driveways Sunday. The fliers had two heart shapes. Inside of the hearts were the messages “love your own race” and “stop homosexuality and race mixing.”

The Cinnaminson Police Department denounced the fliers. There is currently an investigation underway.
DuPont, Chemours to pay $671M in chemical leak case
WASHINGTON — DuPont and Chemours will pay nearly $671 million to settle thousands of lawsuits related to the release of a chemical from a plant in West Virginia more than a decade ago.
Chemours was spun off from DuPont two years ago.

More than 3,500 federal and state lawsuits allege that the DuPont’s Washington Works plant, near Parkersburg, W.Va, had dumped perfluorooctanoic acid into the Ohio River, contaminating the local drinking water and causing illness and disease, including cancer. Perfluorooctanoic acid, also known as C8, is used to make Teflon.
DuPont says it will pay half of the settlement and the other half will be paid by Chemours. The settlement covers all pending claims and those in which jury verdicts had been rendered. Both companies deny any wrongdoing.
